My Oscars goes to…

I have always wanted to write a post about the Oscars but year after year I always miss the opportunity. Well... not this year! I love the Oscars for several reasons but mainly because of...
The acceptance speeches! I find them extremely inspirational and some of them are imprinted in my mind. Like these ones:
Russell Crowe
"...a dream like this seems kind of vaguely ludicrous and completely unattainable. But this moment is directly connected to those childhood imaginings. And for anybody who's on the down side of advantage and relying purely on courage, it's possible. Thanks very much".
Forest Whitaker
"... And finally, I want to thank my mom and my dad; I want to thank my wife Keisha, my children, my ancestors who continue to guide my steps, and God, God who believes in us all and who's given me this moment in this lifetime that I will hopefully carry to the end of my lifetime into the next lifetime. Thank you".
Lupita
"(...)When I look down at this golden statue, may it remind me
and every little child that no matter where you’re from, your dreams are valid. Thank you."

Daniel Day Lewis
This one always makes me cry

The Movies: Of course! But the predictability has put me off a bit, we kinda of know who will win. Where is the fun in that?! Sometimes it is not about the movie but “the academy never gave an Oscars for a black& white movie, or mute movie, or musical or because a beautiful actress played ugly. I think these things are secondary and the best movie, actor/actress should be praised, regardless of anything. There I said it.

The categories: As for the categories the ones I most like to watch are the best supporting actor/actress, best foreign movie and documentary. In these categories I usually try to watch the ones I think will win before the Oscar night but this year I didn’t have time. So this weekend I will watch IDA and the Citizen.

The best foreign movie and the best acceptance speech of the Oscars 2014

The winner of this year also made Summer of Love and LastResort which I try to watch.  Thank you, Patricia for sharing this moment to fight for all of us!

Last but not least…
The dresses! Lupita remains my most beautiful queen of Oscars for me. She is absolutely unbeatable with that blue dress from last year. Oh that blue dress!
What are your Oscar's best moments!?
Share them with me.
xx
